Five nominees for Bingham Ray New Talent Award; Julien Temple, Zachary Quinto among masterclasses.
The Galway Film Galway Film Fleadh (July 9-14) has announced the five nominees for this year’s Bingham Ray New Talent Award.
The new talent nominees are:
- actor Kelly Thornton, Life’s a Breeze
- director Steph Green, Run & Jump
- writer Ailbhe Keogan, Run & Jump
- producer Emmet Fleming, Out of Here
- cinematographer Eimear Ennis Graham, Cold.
The winner will be announced at the closing night awards ceremony on July 14.
The talent award was launched in 2012 in honour of Bingham Ray, the October Films co-founder and former president of United Artists who passed away in 2012.
The inaugural award went to Gerard Barrett for his film Pilgrim Hill. Barrett also secured funding for his next three films from Film4.
The festival will this year host masterclasses by director Julien Temple, screenwriter Daniel Waters, casting directors Ros and John Hubbard of Hubbard Casting and Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto.
