Former Miramax and Sony Pictures exec tasked with growing Curzon’s sales revenue.
Curzon has appointed Danny Goldman as head of content sales and distribution, effective immediatly. He will report directly to Curzon CEO Philip Knatchbull.
In the new role, Goldman will oversee all of Curzon’s distribution activity and has been tasked with growing Curzon’s sales revenue as the company seeks to expand its pipeline of theatrical releases and exploit its library in the increasing number of digital distribution channels.
Goldman began his career in PR and advertising before joining Sony Pictures Television, where as svp of sales he was responsible for licensing Sony’s movies and TV series to broadcasters, platforms and digital services across EMEA.
After 11 years at Sony, he set up Miramax’s European distribution operation and most recently run his own consultancy advising clients on their distribution and production strategies.
Knatchbull said Goldman’s appointment marks “an important component in our company’s ambitious plans for growth over the coming years”.
Goldman said: “With it’s day and date releasing strategy, branded VOD service and phenomenal slate of independent feature films, Curzon is a fully integrated movie business that is challenging the way that movies are marketed, distributed and sold to customers and I am looking forward to helping the business to continue to grow.”
