Award-winning director Paul Greengrass will deliver this year’s David Lean Lecture, BAFTA’s prestigious film lecture.
Taking place at BAFTA’s headquarters in London on March 18, the lecture aims to educate, inform and inspire practitioners and the public by providing insight into the experiences of the world’s best film-makers.
Nik Powell, chair of the BAFTA Film Committee, commented: “Paul Greengrass is one of the UK’s greatest contemporary directors. His fearless approach to film-making has led to him creating some truly memorable features for both film and television.
“His often gritty and realistic productions create suspense with seemingly effortless ease. We are honoured to have such a remarkable film-maker present the latest BAFTA David Lean Lecture.”
Public tickets go on sale on Feb 12. The lecture will be recorded for BAFTA Guru, the online learning resource aimed at career starters in the film, television and games industries.
The David Lean Lecture is generously funded by The David Lean Foundation.
