Highland Film Group has launched EFM sales on disaster film Supercell to star Alec Baldwin as part of a first-look output deal with new production company Short Porch Pictures.
The first film greenlit by Ryan Winterstern and Nathan Klingher’s new company will see Herbert James Winterstern (NBC’s Siberia) direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Anna Elizabeth James (Deadly Illusions).

Winterstern (Most Wanted, Inheritance), Klingher (Zone 414, Becky), and Thomasville Pictures’ Ryan Donnell Smith (The Trial Of The Chicago 7, The Tax Collector) are producing. Anjul Nigam is among the executive producers
The producers have earmarked a 2021 production start in Montana and Georgia. Ryan Donnell Smith and Emily Savelson’s Streamline Global are financing.
Highland handles international sales on and CAA Media Finance represents US rights.
Going forward, Highland will handle international or worldwide rights for Short Porch Pictures depending on the project.
While Supercell is the first film under the pact with Highland, it is the second produced by Short Porch Pictures after One Way, which is also sold by Highland and stars Colson Baker, Kevin Bacon, Storm Reid, and Travis Fimmel.
