Former head of Paradigm Content Group Ben Weiss and former Universal and eOne acquisitions executive Garrett Weaver have officially announced the launch of their film and TV digital collectibles platform Juke.
Backed by Castle Island Ventures, North Island Ventures, and Multicoin Capital and in collaboration with sports collectibles platforms funder Dapper Labs, Juke has partnered with studios and independent content owners to create incentive-driven experiences centred on a diverse catalogue of intellectual property.
Entertainment fans will be able to verify ownership of digital collectibles which can grant access to exclusive content, experiences and other rewards. Juke’s collectibles will be minted on the Flow blockchain and integrated with Dapper Wallet.
For its first series of collectibles the platform is partnering with Morgan Creek Productions on Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and is working with film poster artist Akiko Stehrenberger. Juke will feature the Ace Ventura: Pet Detective collectibles during its closed-beta period in December.
“We fundamentally believe that entertainment fans should be rewarded for all the ways they consume content far beyond simply purchasing a collectible,” said Juke CEO and co-founder Weaver.
Juke chairman and co-founder Weiss added, “We have been collecting cards since childhood and jumped in early on digital collectibles. After 20 years in Hollywood, we see a path to build a stronger community and a deeper connection to the films and shows we love.”
“Digital ownership has the potential to drive a new paradigm of consumer behavior and we have seen that first-hand through our sports products,” said Dapper Labs president and co-founder Mik Naayem. “We’re excited to work closely with the team at Juke as they build the future of film and TV fandom on Dapper Wallet and Flow.”
