Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans, the feature adaptation of the children’s book series, has cast Sebastian Croft and Emilia Jones as the two leads and is now shooting on location in the UK and Bulgaria.
Nick Frost, Craig Roberts, Kim Cattrall, Kate Nash, Rupert Graves, Alex Macqueen and Derek Jacobi also feature in the feature debut of Dominic Brigstocke.The film is a humorous take on Roman Britain.
Altitude Film Entertainment is producing, alongside Citrus Films, and will launch sales at the forthcoming American Film Market where it will be present early footage. Altitude will release in the UK and Ireland on July 26, 2019, in partnership with Lorton Entertainment. Amazon has now taken SVoD rights to the title for the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Australia, while the BBC has taken free TV rights for the UK.
Horrible Histories: The Movie is being directed by Dominic Brigstocke. Will Clarke is producing for Altitude with Caroline Norris for Citrus Films, with Giles Pilbrow as co-producer, in association with Scholastic and Lion Television. Financing comes from BBC Films, CBBC, Ingenious Media, Silver Reel and support from Amazon Studios.
