Indomina Releasing has acquired all North American rights to Australian teen thriller Wasted on the Young (pictured), which had its international premiere in the Discovery section of last month’s Toronto festival.

First time film-maker Ben C Lucas wrote and directed the story of a high school drug dealer who takes revenge when a girl rejects him in favour of his step brother. Oliver Ackland (The Proposition), Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Alex Russell (Wheeler Boys) star and the film is produced by Janelle Landers and Aidan O’Bryan of WBMC.

The deal was negotiated by vice president of acquisitions Rob Williams and head of business and legal affairs Toby Midgen for Indomina and by Fortissimo senior vice president Winnie Lau on behalf of the film-makers.
