Italy’s Fandango Sales has signed a raft of deals on Francesca Archibugi’s upcoming film The Hummingbird and Paolo Taviani’s Leonora Addio, plus made six additions to its Marché line-up.
The Hummingbird has sold to Spain (Karma Films), Switzerland (Filmcoopi), Benelux (Cineart), Bulgaria (Cinelibri) and Former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom). The film stars Nanni Moretti, Berenice Bejo and Pierfrancesco Favino and was produced by Fandango with Les Films des Tournelles, Orange Studio and Rai Cinema.
Berlinale competition title Leonora Addio has been sold to Portugal (Leopardo), Israel (Lev Cinemas), Japan (Moviola), Bulgaria (Art Fest), Czech Republic and Slovakia (Film Europe), Former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom) and Greece (Weird Wave).
The new cut of Matteo Garrone’s 2008 Cannes Grand Prix winner Gomorrah has sold to France (Le Pacte) and HBO Central Europe.
Talks are ongoing for Rolf De Heer’s new film The Mountain, now in post-production, for French territories (Nour Films) and Former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom).
New additions to Fandango’s sales slate are: Ami-Ro Sköld’s The Store, a live action and animated dramedy about a workplace; Marco Risi’s Il Punto Di Rugiada, produced by Fandango and Rai Cinema; Una Squadra, the film version of the documentary series about the Italian team that won the 1976 Davis Cup in Pinochet’s Chile, with Fandango producer Domenico Procacci making his directing debut; Eugenio Cappuccio’s road movie comedy La mia ombra è tua, produced by Fandango and Rai Cinema; actor Giuseppe Battison’s directing debut Io Vivo Altrove, produced by Rosamont; and Benedetta Argentieri’s The Matchmaker, about the so-called ‘ISIS matchmaker’ Tooba Gondal.
Previously announced titles in Fandango Sales’ slate include Emanuele Scaringi’s horror film Pantafa, punk comedy Margins by first time director Niccolò Falsetti, and Luca Scivoletto’s The Pioneers.
