Jamie Foxx will star in and serve as executive producer on Netflix vampire film Day Shift.
JJ Perry will make his feature directorial debut after a career as second unit director and stunt coordinator with credits on the upcoming Fast & Furious 9, The Fate Of The Furious, Bloodshot, and the John Wick franchise.
Tyler Tice wrote the screenplay with revisions by Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, upcoming Army Of The Dead for Netflix, John Wick: Chapter 4) about a blue collar father whose pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income hunting down vampires.
Foxx, who will next be seen in Pixar’s Soul, recently starred in Netflix’s Project Power and will co-star in and produce the upcoming film They Cloned Tyrone, and series Dad Stop Embarrassing Me.
Chad Stahelski (John Wick Franchise) and Jason Spitz are producing for 87Eleven Entertainment, with Shaun Redick (Get Out, BlackKklansman) and Yvette Yates Redick (Malicious) for Impossible Dream Entertainment
Datari Turner and Peter Baxter are executive producers alongside Foxx.
Redick and Yates Redick discovered the Day Shift screenplay after Tice won the Slamdance writing competition grand prize with it in 2017.
Impossible Dream Entertainment attached Perry to direct, and along with Tice developed the screenplay before teaming with Stahelski, 87Eleven Entertainment, and Netflix.
