Producer, screenwriter and showrunner Jeff Kleeman has been named Bold Films CEO in the wake of Gary Michael Walters’ depature.
Kleeman most recently served as president of Ellen DeGeneres’s A Very Good Production which he joined in 2012.
The new CEO will report to Bold chairman David Litvak and oversee the company’s operations and expansion plans, building strategic partnerships with a particular focus on international.
He will also leverage Bold’s existing IP and new IP to generate multiple revenue streams working alongside EVP of development and productions Jon Oakes and creative executive Sophia Kalin.
Oakes has been with the company for more than a decade and has played a key role shepherding the slate including The Guilty remake, Oslo, Colette, Whiplash, Nightcrawler and Drive.
The creative team is supported by Erich Ebner, director of productions, licensing and operations, who is responsible for relationships with buyers of Bold’s catalogue and establishes preferred relationships with partners around the world.
Litvak said, “I am excited to welcome Jeff to lead the company and help us build new relationships in the US and abroad. With his extensive background in both feature and television, his work as both a producer and a writer/showrunner and his illustrious career with MGM/UA, Paramount, and more recently building Ellen’s vibrant production company, I feel confident that Jeff will shepherd Bold Films to new heights.”

Kleeman’s Hollywood roles include EVP of production at MGM/UA, development and production executive at Paramount, and VP of production at American Zoetrope.
Walters had been with Bold since inception in 2004 and this week announced his departure to launch Walters Media Group.
