Jennifer Aniston will play the president of the United States in Netflix political comedy First Ladies, which will depict a fictional tale of the first lesbian couple to take residence in the White House.
The film is based on an idea from US standup comic Tig Notaro, who will play the first lady. She pitched the idea with Stephanie Allynne (In A World…) and the pair will write the screenplay.
The story will focus on American’s fictional first female president and her wife.
Notaro and Allynne are also producing with Adam McKay, Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Betsy Koch for Gloria Sanchez Productions. Executive producer is Chris Henchy.
First Ladies expands Notaro’s relationship with Netflix – her original comedy special Tig Notaro Happy To Be Here is set to debut on the platform this month, and she will also direct an upcoming special from Ellen DeGeneres.
