The 6th Jeonju Project Market (JPM) has announced award winners with Park Jong-keun’s Baby Rose taking the Grand Prize for Feature Film Pitching in the Jeonju Project Promotion (JPP).
Jude Jung’s Perfect Neighbors took the TV5Monde Award and Audience Award.
Lee Dong-han’s A Big Day won the Grand Prize for Documentary Pitching and Jero Yun’s Leaving Homeland won the category’s Audience Award.
The Grand Prize winners each get KW10m ($9,700) and production support from Jeonju IT&CT Industry Promotion Agency, Jeonju Film Commission, and Furmo DT.
The Audience Award winners each get production support equal to KW10m from Jeonju IT&CT Industry Promotion Agency.
The TV5Monde Award winner from this year is awarded KW5m.
Organizers report the JPP’s pitching events drew 300 film industry professionals for its five feature film projects and five documentary projects. A total of 50 meetings took place with companies such as Lotte Entertainment, Showbox, Woori Investment, and Union Investment Partners.
Previous JPP titles include Glory For Everyone, which recently won the Korea Cinemascape Audiences Award this year, and A Dream Of Iron, which was at the Berlinale this year and is currently screening in JIFF’s Korean Competition.
The JPM runs until May 7 with industry conferences and screenings.
JIFF runs until May 10 with its awards ceremony May 7.
