The Men Who Stare At Goats author to curate UK festival.
Journalist and authot Jon Ronson is to guest curate From Page To Screen, the UK’s only festival dedicated to the adaptation of books as films.
The 2014 edition will run from April 2-6 and will screen films at the Bridport Arts Centre and Electric Palace in West Dorset. Most screenings will feature a talk by authors or film-makers
Polly Gifford, director of Bridport Arts Centre, said: “Jon is well versed in the adaptation process, exploring all things weird and not always wonderful in his books, films and articles. We look forward to welcoming him to Bridport and revealing his film choices in the coming months.”
Ronson wrote The Men Who Stare At Goats, which was adapted into a 2009 feature starring George Clooney. He also co-wrote Frank with Peter Straughan, set for a 2014 release, starring Michael Fassbender, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Domhnall Gleeson. His most recent book is The Psychopath Test.
Ronson said: “I have incredibly high ambitions for the festival. We’re planning amazing theme nights and special events.”
