Juliette Binoche will recieve the Donostia Award of the 70th San Sebastian International Film Festival which is taking place in Spain from September 16-24.
The award is the festival’s highest honour and is a tribute to the career of the French actress. Binoche will be presented with the award at a gala screening of Claire Denis’ Both Sides Of The Blade, which screened in competition at the Berlinale earlier this year.
San Sebastain has also revealed its poster for the 70th edition which is an “homage to outlook and to all ways of looking at life and the cinema.”
Last year, the festival provoked controversy when it presented Johnny Depp with the Donostia Award following his failed defamation case against News Group Newspapers for calling him a “wife beater”.
Other previous recipents include Ewan McGregor, Penélope Cruz and Judi Dench.
