Karl Urban and Ashley Greene will star in the thriller Snowblind for The Traveling Picture Show Company (TPSC), which 13 Films will introduce to buyers at the AFM next week.
Marcus Alqueres will direct from a screenplay by Hank Woon adapted from the novel by Don Roff about a US Ranger haunted by a family tragedy who along with his platoon discovers a box containing $5m in cash and a dark secret in a remote woodland chalet. Forrest Goodluck rounds out the key cast. UTA represents US rights.
The Coalition Group’s Johnny Wunder and Luisa Iskin developed Snowblind and join TPSC’s Carissa Buffel, Kevin Matusow and Steve Prince as producers under their newly formed alliance alongside Ground Control’s Scott Glassgold.
Brazil-based Alqueres is best known for his production and visual effects work on spectacles such as 300, Source Code, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and The Adventures Of Tintin. Most recently he directed, produced and edited sci-fi short The Flying Man, which Sony acquired.
Urban will soon be seen in Thor: Ragnarok and is currently in post on Bent starring Sofía Vergara and Andy Garcia. Greene is in post on Antiquities and Accident Man. Goodluck was in The Revenant and recently wrapped production on The Miseducation Of Cameron Post.
