In the run-up to the AFM Priscilla Ross Smith’s sales outfit The Coven has brought on Kendall Anlian as president of global film and TV.
Anlian is based in Los Angeles and arrives from VMI Worldwide where she built the North American distribution arm VMI Releasing and handled new releases and a library of more than 300 titles to VoD and TV networks.
Prior to that she served for nearly a decade as vice-president of sales for The Asylum where she oversaw sales of 25 new releases a year and a library of more than 250 including TV series Z Nation.
“I am thrilled with the US distribution component that Kendall brings to the table,” said Smith, who is based in Lyon, France. “But I’m even more excited to be working alongside another female powerhouse to build The Coven together.”
“What Priscilla has accomplished in the last two years with The Coven is a real testament to who she is in the industry,” said Anlian. “I look forward to collaborating with Priscilla and expanding The Coven’s already impressive rolodex of filmmakers and buyers, domestically and internationally.”
The Coven currently represents international territories on Terrifier 2, which Smith licensed to Cinedigm and Screambox for the US and will open on more than 860 screens this weekend.
Other recent sales titles include Tribeca 2021 selection We Need to Do Something, Dark Blood starring John Leguizamo, and Feed Me, currently playing at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles. The Coven’s sister company Foxglove Entertainment represents non-horror features and series.
Prior to AFM, which runs November 1-6 in Santa Monica, The Coven will attend MipCom from October 17-20.
