US actor Kevin Spacey pleaded not guilty to all five charges against him during a hearing at London’s Old Bailey that took place today (July 14).

Spacey has been charged with four counts of sexually assaulting three men and a fifth charge of causing a man to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. All five charges are alleged to have taken place between 2005 and 2013, in London and Gloucestershire.

Today’s hearing was overseen by judge Justice Mark Wall.

Initially, the hearing was set to take place at Southwark Crown Court, however the location was switched at the last minute to the Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, known as the Old Bailey, possibly owing to the high-profile nature of the case.

The American Beauty and House Of Cards star and double Oscar winner made his first UK court appearance in London’s Westminster Magistrates Court on June 16, and was granted unconditional bail, meaning he could move freely up until his trial. The full trial is not expected to take place until June 6 2023.
