The European Film Academy has revealed the five films nominated for the European discovery Award 2017 - Prix FIpresci, the event’s annual award for an upcoming director’s first feature length film.
The nominees are:
Lady Macbeth (UK), Dir: William Oldroyd
Godless (Bulgaria, Denmrka France), Dir: Ralitza Petrova
Summer 1993 (Spain), Dir: Carla Simon
The Eremites (Germany), Dir: Ronny Trocker
Bloody Milk (France) Dir: Petit Paysan
This year’s nominations were determined by a committee comprised of EFA Board Member Angeles González-Sinde (Spain), EFA Member Mihai Chirilov (Romania), and Isabelle Danel (France), Robbie Eskiel (Greece) and Michael Pattison (UK) as representatives of FIPRESCI, the International Federation of Film Critics.
The nominated films will be submitted to the more than 3,000 EFA Members to elect the winner ahead of the ceremony on December 9, 2017.
