Longtime collaborators Lakeshore Entertainment and Sierra/Affinity announced on January 13 they are forming a one-stop service offering global distribution for independent film-makers.
Meyer’s team will work with Lakeshore to identify projects for acquisition under the new venture, which is being financed and will operate through Lakeshore International.
“Providing producers with the ability to monetise their international rights early, and with certainty, helps producers to green-light production,” said Lakeshore CEO Eric Reid. “We are looking forward to forging new relationships with independent partners.”
“We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Lakeshore Entertainment in jointly selling rights to many of their films in the international marketplace,” said Sierra/Affinity CEO Meyer.
“We will harness our combined experience, relationships and understanding of global film distribution to design sales strategies that maximise the opportunity for the films we acquire to be seen by the largest audience possible.”
Sierra/Affinity and Lakeshore handled international sales at the recent AFM 2013 on Lakeshore’s Age Of Adaline starring Blake Lively (pictured).
