Hong Khaou’s Sundance debut Lilting has sold well for UK outfit Protagonist, with multiple deals inked in major territories.
Deals have concluded in Australia and New Zealand (Transmission Films), Benelux (ABC Cinemien), France (Jour2Fete), Germany (Salzgeber), Japan (Moviola), Scandinavia (Non Stop), Spain (Surtsey), Turkey (Bir Film), Middle East (Front Row) and Airlines (Jaguar).
As previously reported, Strand Releasing picked up US rights and Artificial Eye releases in the UK.
Ben Whishaw and Cheng Pei Pei star in the drama about a man who must connect with his dead lover’s mother.
The film was produced by Dominic Buchanan through Film London Microwave, in association with BBC Films, and exec producers Stink, SUMS Film & Media and Bob & Co.
