Lily Collins will join Simon Pegg in the thriller Inheritance which Highland Film Group is shopping to international buyers at EFM this week.
Briton Vaughn Stein directs, having previously worked with Pegg and Margot Robbie on the noir thriller Terminal, from a screenplay by Matthew Kennedy. Richard B. Lewis is producing through his Southpaw Entertainment banner alongside David Wulf. UTA and Highland Film Group jointly represent US rights.
Inheritance explores what happens when the patriarch of a wealthy and powerful family suddenly passes away, leaving his wife and daughter with a shocking secret inheritance that threatens to unravel and destroy their lives.
Collins currently stars in the BBC’s adaptation of Les Misérables alongside David Oyelowo and Dominic West, which will premiere in the US on Masterpiece on PBS on April 14. She starred opposite Zac Efron in recent Sundance world premiere Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile, and will soon be seen alongside Nicholas Hoult in Fox Searchlight’s Tolkien, which opens in May.
Pegg most recently reprised the role of Benji Dunn alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and his credits include Star Trek, Ready Player One, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
