Lionsgate has bolstered its production team with a string of hires, renewals and promotions on the back of putting 16 features into production during the pandemic.
James Myers has renewed his contract as executive vice president and assumes an expanded strategic management role alongside his growing slate. His most recent projects include Borderlands starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart; The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent with Nicolas Cage as himself; Shotgun Wedding starring Jennifer Lopez; White Bird: A Wonder Story; and About My Father with Sebastian Maniscalco and Robert De Niro.
Brady Fujikawa is returning to Lionsgate from Bron as executive vice president of production. Previously at the studio he championed The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent; and London, based on a Jo Nesbo story with Oscar Isaac attached to star and Ben Stiller attached to direct.
Meredith Wieck has been promoted to senior vice president and is overseeing The Hunger Games prequel The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes; Now You See Me 3; a Dirty Dancing sequel; and Fascinating Rhythm from John Carney and produced by Irwin Winkler and Martin Scorsese.
Aaron Edmonds has been promoted to vice president and has championed The 1619 Project, a portfolio of film, telvision and multi-media programming to be produced by Lionsgate, The New York Times and Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films.
Chelsea Kujawa has been promoted to vice president and has overseen American Underdog; John Wick 4; Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret starring Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates; and About My Father.
Joining the studio from pan-regional production company El Estudio as director of development is Jorge Alfaro who brings a background in banking and finance. His projects include upcoming Dennis Rodman project 48 Hours In Vegas from Lord Miller; West Pointer from Rod Lurie with KJ Apa attached to star; and Shadow Force to star Kerry Washington.
