UK projects will be the focus of this year’s Locarno Pro’s First Look, the works-in-progress strand of Locarno Film Festival’s (August 2-12) industry programme.
In partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI), six UK projects in post-production will have the chance to present to sales agents, buyers, programmers and representatives from post-production funds.
The First Look programme will run August 4-6 and pitches will take place both in person at Locarno and online.
A jury comprised of international festival directors and curators will award several prizes – up to €50,000 of post-production services; €5,600 worth of advertising space; and an international poster design worth €8,5000.
To be eligible, the principal production company must be UK-based and the project must not have an international sales agent attached yet. Producers can apply via the BFI by submitting a rough cut of at least 60 minutes at any stage in post-productions.
Applications are now open and will close April 28.
This is the 12th edition of Locarno Pro’s First Look. The strand has previously spotlighted works from Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Israel, Poland, the Baltic countries, Portugal, Serbia, Switzerland and Germany.
