The Empire cinema in London’s Leicester Square will be the first in the UK to bring Dolby Atmos audio technology to audiences, starting December 13 with Ang Lee’s Life of Pi.
The audio platform is said to create a more natural and realistic field of sound to enhance the viewing experience and bring films to life by moving sounds anywhere in the theatre.
Empire Cinema marketing director Jon Nutton says: “Dolby Atmos is set to change the cinema experience and we’re honoured that the Empire Leicester Square will be the first cinema in the UK to bring this to audiences.”
Screenings at the Empire are set to begin a week ahead of the Dec 20 UK release date.
