Filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan is to serve as president of the international jury at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival (February 10-20, 2022).
Shyamalan’s credits as a director include The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Split and most recently Old.
The international jury for the 2021 Berlinale, forced to move online due to Covid-19, did not have a president. It awarded the Golden Bear to Radu Jude’s Bad Luck Banging Or Loony Porn.
Jeremy Irons headed up the international jury for the festival’s 2020 edition.
Earlier this month the Berlinale confirmed that it would take place as a physical event next year, with the size of the film programme set to be roughly the same as the 2020 pre-Covid edition.
