EXCLUSIVE: Former Icon Productions CEO departs The Weinstein Company after one-year stint.
The Weinstein Company executive Mark Gooder has left the company.
Former Icon executive Gooder joined TWC last summer as president of acquisitions/Australian operations. He was in charge of the day-to-day running of the acquisitions department.
Gooder was formerly CEO of Icon Productions. He started Icon Australia in 2000 and oversaw Icon Productions’ international sales operation and its UK distribution company from Los Angeles.
The Weinstein Company has been growing its London office this year with the arrival of former Momentum executives Robert Walak as president/MD Europe – production, acquisitions and television, and Jamie Schwartz as president of international marketing. Negeen Yazdi is evp Europe - acquisitions and co-productions.
TWC acquisitions during Gooder’s tenure include Carol, Passengers, Vampire Academy, Paddington and Big Eyes. The company most recently closed a deal for StudioCanal’s Macbeth set to star Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.
