Martin Scorsese, currently in post for Apple on Killers Of The Flower Moon, will receive the Location Managers Guild International’s Eva Monley Award at the ninth Annual LMGI Awards, on August 27 in Los Angeles.
The awards ceremony and dinner at Los Angeles Center Studios will recognise a career spanning more than 50 years which has produced the likes of Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Departed, Silence, Hugo, The Wolf Of Wall Street and No Direction Home: Bob Dylan.
The Eva Monley Award is presented to a filmmaker whose efforts have demonstrated “above and beyond” support of the work of location professionals and is named after the late scout and locations manager who worked with John Huston, Otto Preminger and David Lean, among others.
Scorsese chairs The Film Foundation, which he founded to preserve film history and recently launched Restoration Screening Room, a virtual theatre showcasing curated films from around the world.
LMGI president and committee chair of this year’s LMGI Awards John Rakich said, “We are so proud to be able to honor Martin Scorsese, a master of cinema whose work has inspired generations of filmmakers, delighted fans around the world and made the work of his Location Managers shine on the screen.”
