EXCLUSIVE: Indie outfit takes UK and Ireland rights to thriller starring Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace.
Metrodome has picked up UK and Ireland rights to Brian De Palma’s Passion and Shane Carruth’s Upstream Color.
Venice debut Passion, starring Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace, charts the rivalry between a boss and her talented protégée, which escalates from public humiliation to murder.
The deal was negotiated by Carole Baraton from Wild Bunch and Metrodome’s head of acquisitions Giles Edwards.
Theatrical release is scheduled for later in the year.
Upstream Color, about a couple struggling to maintain their identities, is the second film from Sean Carruth (Primer). The drama was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
Metrodome plans to release in August 2013.
The deal was negotiated by Edwards and Ryan Kampe for Visit Films.
