MGM will handle the North American release on Exodus Film Group’s animated romp Bunyan & Babe, a modern take on the folk story about the lumberjack Paul Bunyan and his sidekick Babe the Blue Ox.

The partners previously collaborated on Exodus’ first animated feature Igor. John Goodman voices the lumberjack and Kelsey Grammer portrays an evil developer who threatens the tranquility of a town.

Tony Bancroft and Jim Rygiel co-directed from a screenplay by Michael A Nickles and Julia A Wall. Exodus CEO John Eraklis and president Max Howard are producing.

Igor is developing a series of DVD features with Tyler Perry based on his Madea character in an animated world.
