Producer Robert Lantos has confirmed that Minnie Driver, Rosamund Pike and Twilight star Rachel Lefevre will join Dustin Hoffman and Paul Giamatti on Barney’s Version.

Richard Lewis will commence principal photography on August 17 in Rome on the story, based on Michael Konyves’ adaptation of Mordecai Richler’s 1997 novel.

The story centres on the unreliable memoir of an irascible, politically incorrect character who develops Alzheimer’s and is accused of murdering his best friend.

Lefevre plays Barney’s first wife Clara, a wild and troubled artist, while Driver plays Barney’s annoyingly loquacious second wife, and Pike portrays his third wife and true love. Mark Musselman is serving as exective producer.
