Update allows Xbox LIVE users to buy or rent from a library of 10,000 titles, including the likes of John Carter [pictured] and This Means War.
A new release of the UK movie streaming service blinkbox allows user to buy or rent titles via the Xbox 360 console. The new blinkbox update allows Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers to download or stream new releases to their Xbox 360 console without a subscription.
blinkbox first launched an app on Xbox LIVE in December 2011. The app had allowed blinkbox customers to view movies they had already purchased. The new release allows Xbox LIVE users to buy or rent from a library of 10,000 titles directly from the Xbox LIVE dashboard without subscribing to a service. blinkbox is also available for Mac, PC and PlayStation consoles and uses Adobe Flash for video delivery.
New releases available through the blinkbox app include Project X, This Means War and John Carter.
blinkbox was founded by Michael Comish and Adrian Letts in 2008. In 1998, CEO Comish co-founded pioneering web video service AtomFilms before becoming an exec at Channel 4.
