MPI Media Group has been busy at TIFF and reported strong territory sales on horror titles Two Witches and The Summoned.
MPI’s VP of sales and acquisitions Nicola Goelzhaeuser announced her team has closed deals for Two Witches with Umbrella for Australia and New Zealand, Synapse for Latin America, Factoris for France, Tiberius for Germany, Media4Fun for Poland, and Njuta for Scandinavia.
Two Witches is directed by Pierre Tsigaridis and traces the parallel stories of a newly pregnant woman who believes she has been cursed by an old woman, and a college student convinced she will inherit her dying grandmother’s deadly powers. Kristina Klebe, Rebekah Kennedy and Tim Fox star.
In other developments, MPI Media has struck a deal on The Summoned with Njuta for Scandinavian rights following a previously announced deal with Lightbulb for the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
The Summoned (pictured) centres on a rock star and his girlfriend who are invited to attend an exclusive self-help retreat where he learns he has been called to settle a supernatural debt dating back generations.
Mark Meir directed a cast that includes J. Quinton Johnson, Emma Fitzpatrick, and Angela Gulner.
