Motion Picture Exchange (MPX) has acquired worldwide sales rights to the documentary feature Cat Daddies and will introduce to buyers at the Cannes market next week.
Produced and directed by Mye Hoang, the film has played a number of US festivals and presents a portrait of eight male cat-lovers whose lives have been changed forever by the love and companionship of their pet cats
Hoang, Dave Boyle and Nobu Nagatsuma served as producers on the documentary from Gray Hat Productions which has screened to audiences at Seattle, Hawaii, Big Sky, Cleveland and won awards in Newport Beach, Dallas, SF Indiefest, and Tallgrass.
“Mye has crafted a truly wonderful balance of humour and sincerity told through the eyes of these unabashedly proud cat daddies,” said Ryan Bury, SVP of acquisitions and sales at MPX. “The film is a testament to the positive impact of furry friends in our lives and might just turn even the most hardened feline nay-sayers into loving enthusiasts.”
“I’m thrilled with how the film has connected with a wide range of audiences at film festivals,” added Hoang. “In a challenging time for moviegoing, cat-lovers sure can pack the house.”
