MTV Documentary Films has acquired worldwide rights to Maite Alberdi’s My Eternal Memory which premiered in Sundance’s world documentary strand.
The film, which will have its international premiere in Berlinale’s Panorama next month, follows a Chilean television presenter living with Alzheimer’s and his wife who has become his caretaker.
Alberdi is best known her 2020 Oscar-nominated documentary The Mole Agent.
My Eternal Memory is a Chilean production from Alberdi’s production company Micromundo and Pablo Larrain’s firm Fabula.
The deal was negotiated by Submarine and United Talent Agency Independent Film Group.
The film was previously presented at the IDFA’s 2022 co-production and co-financing market.
MTV Documentary Films is planning a theatrical release and awards campaign later this year.
