Embankment Films closes US deal for drama starring Jim Broadbent, Lindsay Duncan and Jeff Goldblum.

Music Box has secured the US rights from Embankment Films to Roger Michell’s drama Le Weekend, starring Jim Broadbent, Lindsay Duncan and Jeff Goldblum.

Embankment has sold the film, about a married couple who revisit Paris to revitalise their marriage, to more than 20 territories including Italy (Lucky Red), Germany (Prokino), Australia (Transmission), and the UK (Artificial Eye).

Le Weekend, currently in post-production, marks the latest collaboration between Michell, writer Hanif Kureishi and producer Kevin Loader. Michell and Loader’s Free Range Films produce the film in association with Le Bureau for Curzon Film Rights, Film4 and the BFI Film Fund.

Music Box recently acquired The Deep Blue Sea by Terence Davies and Monsieur Lazhar.
