Myriad Pictures has bulked up its AFM sales slate with worldwide rights to girls’ night out comedy It Only Takes A Night from A Touch of Madness Studios.
Eliza Taylor (The 100) stars in the film, styled as being in the vein of Bridget Jones’s Diary and Sex And The City, about four best friends on a wild night who end up on a path none of them expected and find it only takes one night to find true love.
Callan Durlik makes her feature directing debut and It Only Takes A Night is produced by Kara Pisconeri, Josh Horneman and Durlik. Taylor also serves as executive producer.
The ensemble includes Arielle Carver-O’Neill (Ticket To Paradise), George Pullar (Coyote), Sana’a Shaik (Dive Club), Mahesh Jadu (The Witcher), and newcomer Ana Ika.
Durlik previously wrote and produced The Naked Wanderer starring John Cleese, Angus McLaren, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo.
Scott Bedno, Myriad SVP of sales and acquisitions, “It Only Takes A Night has all the elements we’re looking for in a romantic comedy – it’s fun, flirty, a little sexy, and has romance for days. It puts a smile on your face from beginning to end, which we can certainly use these days.”
Durlik added, “It Only Takes A Night is the light-hearted story that everyone needs right now. We want to feel good and watch something that makes us laugh. Whether you see yourself reflected in this group of friends, been through a bad break up or have had one of those crazy night’s out, audiences will find stories within the film that resonate, guaranteeing a ‘that happened to me’ moment.”
