Myriad Pictures has come on to represent international rights to Wild Invention Pictures’ dark comedy-thriller Green Olds starring Thomas Haden Church and Alice Eve.
Max Mayer will direct from a screenplay by Dallas Mitchell Brennan about a young man who encounters a married couple and soon finds himself swept into a strange and dangerous love triangle.
Finn Wittrock also stars in Green Olds and CAA handles North American rights. Production is set to take place in New Mexico this autumn.
Wild Invention’s Dallas Brennan, Chris Gilligan and Rabinder Sira serve as producers. George Parra serves as executive producer with Monolith Pictures’ Michael Goodin, Myriad Pictures president Kirk D’Amico and PalmStar Media’s Josh Monkarsh.
Executive producers Gregory Shockro of GPS Film Partners and Porter Farrell of Turnpike Pictures are financing the project.
“I look forward with great joy to working with such a dynamically gifted team to tell a story I find so darkly funny, compelling, and emotionally truthful,” Mayer said.
D’Amico added: “We are excited to be working with Max Mayer and this talented production team and cast. This is unique and strong material that is perfectly suited to the talents of Alice Eve and Thomas Hayden Church.”
Myriad’s Kevin Forester and Audrey Delaney negotiated the deal with Robert L. Seigel on behalf of the filmmakers.
