The National Board Of Review has moved up its awards gala by two days to Sunday January 8, 2023, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York.
The group honours the standard categories of best film, director, lead and supporting acting, screenplay, foreign language film, animation and documentary, as well as breakthrough performance and directorial debut.
Last season’s key winners included Licorice Pizza for best film, Paul Thomas Anderson as best director for Licorice Pizza, lead acting winners Will Smith for King Richard and Rachel Zegler for West Side Story, and Encanto and Summer Of Soul for animation and documentary, respectively.
Ciaran Hinds for Belfast and Aunjanue Ellis for King Richard triumphed in the supporting actor categories, while Asghar Farhadi won best original screenplay for A Hero and Joel Coen took adapted screenplay honours for The Tragedy Of Macbeth.
