Neon and Imax have set an exclusive run for Brett Morgen’s David Bowie documentary Moonage Daydream, which premiered in Cannes to strong reviews and is a potential awards season contender.
The film will play for one week starting on September 16 and charts Bowie’s creative, musical and spiritual journey, accompanied by voiceover from the late artist himself and startling visual imagery.
Moonage Daydream will get its North American premiere at TIFF next month when it screens at the Cinesphere Imax on September 12.
Morgen produced through his Public Road Productions and the film’s creative team includes Bowie’s longtime producer Tony Visconti.
Last week Neon announced it had acquired North American rights to Laura Poitras’ Venice and TIFF selection All the Beauty and the Bloodshed.
