The fifth edition of Danish film festival CPH PIX will open with the Danish premiere of Michael Noer’s film Northwest.
The film, sold by TrustNordisk, will be the first ever Danish feature to open the festival on April 10.
“Noer understands how to balance rough kitchen sink realism with effective mesmerising genrefilm, he brings both wisdom and warmth to Northwest,” said festival director Jacob Neiiendam.
“This is something the audience should look forward to. It is a knockout of a film to open the festival.”
This year, the 17th Nordisk Film Prize for new talent - worth €15,000 (107,000 Danish Kroner) - will be awarded at the
opening of the festival.
The size of the prize is calculated by adding a thousand to the age of Nordisk Film, the major Danish production, distribution and exhibition company.
