Odeya Rush, Eric Dane, Saffron Burrows and Ray Liotta have signed to star in John Barr’s Dangerous Waters, with production underway in the Dominican Republic.
US firm Capstone Global is handling worldwide sales and is introducing the film at Cannes.
Dangerous Waters sees a sailing holiday spiral out of control when a teenage daughter uncovers the dark past of her mother’s new boyfriend.
The film is based on a script by Mark Jackson and story by Barr. Producers are Suza Horvat for US firm Rio Luna Films, and Marc Goldberg for US-UK company Signature Films. Executive producers are Christian Mercuri for Capstone Global with Sarah Gabriel and Gareth Williams for Signature.
Dangerous Waters is Barr’s second feature after 2020 thriller Blood And Money. Rush’s credits include Greta Gerwig’s 2017 Lady Bird, and Cooper Raiff’s Sundance 2022 winner Cha Cha Real Smooth; while Dane is known for roles in TV’s Euphoria and Grey’s Anatomy.
Signature Films and Capstone Studios are also collaborating on Dean Craig’s The Estate starring Toni Collette and Anna Faris, now in post.
