606 Distribution has acquired UK and Ireland rights to Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond’s My Little Sister from Beta Cinema.
The drama stars Nina Hoss and is Switzerland’s entry to the foreign-language Oscar category.
606 Distribution said it is committed to a theatrical rather than digital-only release and will do so before April 30, to ensure it is eligible for the upcoming Bafta Film Awards.
My Little Sister received its world premiere at the Berlinale, where it played in competition. The Swiss drama follows a brother and sister, played by Nina Hoss and Lars Eidinger, who reconnect as he recovers from leukaemia.
Produced by Zurich-based Vega Film, the feature has sold to more than a dozen territories including North America, where it was acquired by Film Movement.
It marks the second fiction feature from Chuat and Reymond after The Little Bedroom, which was Switzerland’s Oscar entry in 2011.
Previous titles released in the UK by 606 Distribution including System Crasher and Perfect 10.
