Paramount Pictures has appointed former IMAX China manager Tara Yin as general manager of its new China office in Beijing.
Yin will oversee the distribution and marketing of Paramount titles in China, working closely with China Film Group and other Chinese partners.
Paramount announced in April that it would be moving its China business operations from Shanghai to Beijing, which has become the centre of China’s fast-growing film industry.
“In this incredibly exciting market, we realise the need to be headquartered in Beijing near our local colleagues,” said Paramount president, International Marketing & Distribution, Nic Crawley.
“I am very excited that Tara has joined us to lead our soon-to-be completed China team. Her experience is exactly what we need to further our business in China.”
As senior manager at IMAX China, Yin oversaw the company’s development of IMAX Theatres and contributed to the company’s theatre deals with Wanda Cinema Line, Jinyi Media, CJ CGV and Shanghai Film Group.
Prior to that, she was the marketing and advertising director for Wanda Cinema Line Corporation in Beijing.
