The executive becomes head of the studio’s interactive marketing department and succeeds Amy Powell who was named head of Paramount Television last week.
Wahtera joined the studio in 2006 and most recently served as svp of interactive marketing.
She will oversee the studio’s domestic theatrical digital marketing strategy and create online campaigns with a remit to cover social networks and wireless devices.
She will report to president of domestic marketing and distribution Megan Colligan.
