US subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) service Paramount+ has unveiled the next stages of its global rollout, with dates set for the service to launch in France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
In France, the streamer will arrive on December 1, while in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, it will launch on December 8.
Upon launch in France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Paramount+ will be available online and on connected TV and mobile devices. Paramount+ will launch on Sky platforms in Germany and Austria as part of a multi-year distribution agreement. Canal+ will distribute in France and French-speaking Switzerland.
The French slate includes fantasy horror series Mask: Marie Antoinette Serial Killer; a mystery based on the bestselling novel by Maxime Chattam, The Signal; and Le Stade, which follows the Stade Toulousain rugby team as they face the most ambitious challenge in its history.
German commissions include eight-part series The Sheikh (Der Scheich) from Dani Levy; Simon Beckett’s Chemistry Of Death, based on the novels about forensic anthropologist Dr. David Hunter; A Thin Line, about hacktivist twin sisters on a quest to expose environmental wrongdoing; and mystery series Kohlrabenschwarz, based on a popular German audiobook.
Paramount+ has launched in the US, UK, Canada, Latin America, Caribbean, Australia, Italy, Ireland and South Korea. It will launch in India in partnership with Viacom 18 in 2023.
