P. David Ebersole’s music documentary set for October theatrical release in the UK.
Peccadillo Pictures have acquired UK and Irish rights to P. David Ebersole’s Hit So Hard.
The music documentary follows Patty Schemel, drummer from US alternative rock band Hole, as she struggles with fame and addiction. Produced by Todd Hughes and Christina Soletti, the film features never before seen footage of the band in the early 1990s, including home videos of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
Hit So Hard will screen at Leeds Music Festival in August - it’s already played the likes of SXSW and the BFI London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival - and is set for an October theatrical release.
Peccadillo MD Tom Abell commented: “It’s been 18 years since I worked with David on his first film, Death In Venice, CA, and we are delighted to be working with David again on such a fabulous documentary about one of the most intriguing and important women in rock music history.”
