Killing Eve, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s UK spy series starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, has racked up further international territory deals for Endeavour Content.
The series has now sold to HBO Europe for Scandinavia, CEE, Spain, Portugal, and Portuguese-speaking Africa; HOT for Israel; and TVNZ for New Zealand. It premieres on BBC America in the US this week and will screen on BBC One and BBC Three in the UK later this year.
Produced by the UK’s Sid Gentle Films, Killing Eve follows a M15 security officer whose deskbound job fails to fulfil her fantasies of being a spy (Oh) and a talented assassin (Comer) who become obsessed with each other, going head to head in a game of cat and mouse. It is based on the Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings.
Waller-Bridge, known for creating the comedy series Fleabag, in which she also starred, and her acting roles in The Iron Lady and Goodbye Christopher Robin, serves as the series’ writer and executive producer. The executive producers are Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris, Colin Wratten is produing and Sandra Oh has an associate producer credit.
“It’s clear from our growing list of global partners on this show that audiences are hungry for fresh and subversive storytelling, and we’re proud to have championed this project from its inception,” said Gary Marenzi, head of entertainment sales and partnerships at Endeavor Content.
