Sean Penn will star in the Silver Pictures/StudioCanal action thriller about a spy who is forced to flee across Europe after he is betrayed by his organisation.

Silver Pictures and StudioCanal are jointly financing the project, based on Peter Travis’ adaptation of the novel of the same name by Jean-Patrick Manchette.

Joel Silver and Andrew Rona will produce through Silver Pictures.

Production is scheduled to begin in spring across Europe. It remained unclear at time of writing whether the film would go through Silver’s new deal at Universal.

Morel credits include Taken, From Paris With Love and District B13.

Silver Pictures recently wrapped shooting on the Liam Neeson/Julianne Moore airline action film Non-Stop directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
