Australian film and TV producer Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories is opening a UK outpost run by Ticket To Paradise producer Sarah Harvey.
Harvey is joining the company as producer and creative director.
Made Up Stories’ new London location is in addition to its production offices in Los Angeles and Sydney, Australia.
The British film producer’s most recent credits include Ticket To Paradise, directed by Ol Parker, starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and Strangers, directed by Andrew Haigh.
Harvey has held posts at several production companies including Blueprint Pictures, Intermedia Films and Working Title Films. As head of film at Blueprint, she developed and co-produced The Best Exotic Marigold. She also co-produced Martin McDonagh’s directorial debut In Bruges.
Made Up Stories most recent UK production was Netflix’s Anatomy Of A Scandal.
Harvey officially began her new position in August.
Made Up Stories was founded by Bruna Papandrea in 2017, before which she ran Pacific Standard with Reese Witherspoon.
Papandrea produced HBO series Big Little Lies, and on the TV side Made Up Stories has premiered five series in 2022, including Netflix’s Pieces Of Her and Anatomy Of A Scandal, the anthology Roar for Apple TV+, romantic comedy Wolf Like Me for Peacock and Stan, and the Spectrum Originals women’s basketball drama Long Slow Exhale. It recently wrapped principal photography on the Amazon Prime Video series The Lost Flowers Of Alice Hart, starring Sigourney Weaver set to release in 2023.
Made Up Stories most recently produced the film adaptation of Penguin Bloom for Netflix, and The Dry, from director Robert Connolly and starring Eric Bana, released by IFC.
Made Up Stories is currently in production on Force Of Nature, a follow-up to The Dry. It is also gearing up for the October 7 release of the film adaptation of Netflix’s Luckiest Girl Alive.
“I’ve long admired Bruna’s tenacity and stellar storytelling instincts and I’m thrilled to have joined the incredibly talented Made Up Stories team,” said Harvey.
“Sarah and I have a long history and have always been so aligned on the aspirations we have for the ambitious stories we want to tell and the people we want to work with we couldn’t be more excited for Sarah to join our already brilliant team,” added Papandrea.
