French actress Elisa Lasowski (Eastern Promises) will star opposite Josh Peck and James Ransone in Western thriller The Timber, currently shooting in Romania for Los Angeles-based ANA Media.
Maria Doyle Kennedy (Albert Nobbs) has also joined the cast, which features Julian Glover, William Gaunt and David Bailie.
Anthony O’Brien directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Colin Ossiander and Steve Allrich. ANA Media’s Scott Einbinder (Killer Joe) is producing with Patrick Newall.
The story is about two brothers chasing their dreams, and vengeance, set during the 1898 Yukon Gold Rush. The project is shooting in the Carpathian Mountains and at Bucharest’s Media Pro Studios.
Einbinder: “We are thrilled to have Elisa and Maria join the cast. Elisa is one of the most talented, up-and-coming actresses in Europe. Maria’s award-winning acting and singing work, most notably as Queen of Katherine of Aragon on The Tudors, and in The General, portraying the title character’s wife Frances, speaks for itself.”
O’Brien previously directed Perfect Sport.
